Health Officials Confirms Two Cases Of Wuhan Coronavirus In Vietnam
VIETNAM – Health authorities from Vietnam had confirmed two cases of the Wuhan Coronavirus.
According to a report from Channel News Asia, A Chinese man living in Ho Chi Minh City got infected by his father who travelled to Vietnam from Wuhan.
The father was admitted to the hospital on January 17 and had high fever days before his son had developed symptoms.
Following this, both were quarantined and tested positive for the coronavirus that had killed 17 people in China and had infected over 570.
As per the report, the patients were shown to have good signs of recovery. Their fever was reduced and they were now able to eat.
According to Doctor Nguyen Ngoc Sang, those who show symptoms should immediately be tested. He emphasized that they don’t want the virus to be spread to the public.
Meanwhile, other countries outside of China like Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore and the United States all had confirmed cases of the virus.
In addition, countries like Canada and the Philippines are monitoring individuals suspected to have the virus.
Because of the outbreak, Wuhan was ordered to shut down all outgoing public transportation. Residents were also urged not to leave the city unless absolutely necessary.
As the Lunar New Year Holidays near, fears of the Virus spreading are echoed worldwide. During this time, millions of Chinese travel domestically and abroad to celebrate the holidays.
That’s why countries have heightened their airport security screening to avoid the importation of the virus.
