According to the report, the elderly woman and her family evacuated from Talisay last week after the Taal volcano spewed heavy ash and smoke. She was already bedridden at that time.

Zenaida Ortilla’s family asked the authorities to allow them to bury her remains in Talisay, a town by the shores of the lake. However, the town remains under lockdown due to the threat of the volcano’s hazardous eruption.
