Coco Martin Continues Devotion To ‘Poong Nazareno’
COCO MARTIN – Kapamilya actor and director Coco Martin expressed his endless gratitude to the Black Nazarene.
Today, January 9 is the feast of the Black Nazarene also known as the “Traslacion.” It is one of the biggest events in the Philippines. Millions of Roman Catholic devotees gather to attend the procession from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church.
The event usually lasts up to twenty (20) hours. Devotees usually kiss and wipe their handkerchiefs to the historical and iconic miraculous statue.
Manila Mayor Francisco Isko Moreno Domagoso previously declared the suspension of classes and government works throughout the city due to the heavy traffic congestion caused by the annual procession.
Some of the known devotees of the Black Nazarene from the showbiz world are Noli De Castro, Angeline Quinto, Kris Aquino, and Coco Martin. Surely, lots of people asked if the ‘Ang Probinsyano’ lead actor attended the procession.
On Thursday, January 8, Coco Martin took to social media to express his endless gratitude to the Black Nazarene. He thanked the “Poong Nazareno” for all the blessings he received. He uploaded a photo of himself praying inside the Quiapo Church.
In the caption of the post, he wrote: “Walang hanggang pasasalamat po sa Poong Jesus Nazareno sa lubos na biyaya, pagmamahal at paggabay sa akin at sa aking buong pamilya. Higit pa sa aking hiniling noon ang binigay niyo sa akin ngayon. Maraming maraming salamat po, Ama Jesus Nazareno”
The 38-year-old actor believed that his successful showbiz career was bestowed on him by praying to the Black Nazarene.
