Passengers Swarmed In Airports, Bus Terminals, Pier After Holiday Break

HOLIDAY BREAK – Passengers begin to swarm in piers, bus terminals and airports this weekend to return to Manila or other areas after holiday break.

According to ABS-CBN, flight tickets have begun to become more expensive for those who will travel by flight this weekend.

At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, several people who went on vacation in provinces are currently returning to the capital, hence filling up the airport. Flight were also booked and other available flights are worth double the price.

According to the Philippine Coast Guard, about 200,000 passengers have arrived in piers at about 6 in the morning up to 6 in the evening on Friday.

Most of the passengers are from Cebu, Iloilo, Palawan, Batangas, and Mindoro. Most are starting to return to Manila since work and class will start next week Monday.

As per the report, passengers have also swarmed in Araneta City Bus Terminal in Quezon City. There are those who want to return to the province, and there are those who are from the province who were dropped at the terminal.

But there are more people who are returning home from the province. Most bus companies have enacted “First come, first served” policy and did not take any reservations.

Some bus companies further added more buses from an average 5 bus a day to 8 or 10. A. Arandia Bus Line are fully booked until January 5 (Sunday).
