President Rodrigo Duterte Advises ABS-CBN To Just Sell The Network
DUTERTE TO ABS-CBN – On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte gave television broadcasting giant, ABS-CBN advise regarding the franchise renewal.
In a previous article, we could recall that the President threatened to shut down the network. He said that the network would only last till March 2020.
On Monday, just a few weeks after his threat, the President advised ABS-CBN to just sell the network.
Itong ABS, mag-expire ang contract ninyo. Mag-renew kayo, ewan ko lang kung may mangyari diyan. Kung ako sa inyo ipagbili niyo na ‘yan,

The President also slammed the network for being unfair towards him during the presidential elections. He also accused ABS-CBN of estafa.
This was because the President was not provided airtime that he paid for in the May 2016 presidential elections.
According to an article by Inquirer, the proposed sale of ABS-CBN was in part of Duterte’s friend, Davao businessman, Dennis Uy. As per the article, Uy recently established the Udenna Communications Media and Entertainment Holding Corp.
With this, Uy wanted his newly established company to expand into the media and entertainment sector.
President Duterte gave advice to ABS-CBN during his speech before the earthquake-struck resident of M’lang, North Cotabato.
In addition to his advise, the President also said that the only people who can give justice to the transgressions of the network are the Filipino people.
