Angkas Competitors, Joy Ride & Move It Have No Political Influence – Official
ANGKAS COMPETITORS – A slew of conspiracy theories have arisen that their competition of Angkas is backed by politicians.
However, the claims that there has been a political influence on the new players were denied by a transport official. In addition, he also claimed that the pilot program for Joy Ride and Move it went through a rigorous process.
Recently, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) made the decision to cut down Angkas’ number of riders to 10,000. They stated that they made the decision to prevent a monopoly of the service.
Because of their decision, thousands of riders are now being laid off. However, the LTFRB said the exceeding number of riders in Angkas could be taken in by the other operators.
Following this development, Transportation Assistant Secretary Alberto Suansing defended the move to add Joy Ride and Move it to the extended pilot. According to a report from CNN, Suansing said:
We’ve gone over the papers of both applicants, wala naman kaming nakitang politically-sounding names doon

He also added that they don’t feel any political pressure. In addition to this, he mentioned that they couldn’t find any politician who might be behind the move.
However, one of the competitors, in particular, drew flak from netizens over conspiracies that is was owned by a high ranking government official. There were also Twitter accounts belonging to supporters of the admin who advertised the app.
But, Senator Bong Go, who’s name was mentioned in the conspiracies as the owner of Joy Ride, denied ownership of the company.
In a statement on Tuesday, he said that the rumors were “fake news”. He even added that it was the first time he ever heard of the company, Joy Ride.
