Truck Accident In Zamboanga Del Norte, 3 Fatalities, 10 Injured
TRUCK ACCIDENT – A truck accident occurred in Zamboanga Del Norte which resulted in three fatalities and 10 injured.
According to PhilStar, a truck rammed a house in the town of Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte.
The three casualties were identified as Rodolfo Santiago, aged 60, as well as his nephews James Bryan, aged 18, and Dwayne, aged 4.
They were all residents of Sitio Lipuno in Barangay Limpapa. The three were declared dead on arrival in a hospital.
Maj. Helen Galvez, spokesperson of the Zamboanga Peninsula Police, said that the truck driver, identified as 35 year old Jayson de Leon, was among the injured.
The ten other occupants of the rammed house, which includes two children that are aged eight years and 11 months, respectively, are also injured.
As per the report, the initial investigation revealed that De Leon lost control of the wheel of the truck, which was loaded with assorted cargoes, while driving down the road at about 7:20 PM Sunday.
Galvez further said that it then fell from the road and struck the house occupied by the victims. De Leon was placed under Sibuco police custody.
