Duterte Dubs Himself, Cayetano, & Go As PH Politic’s Brightest Stars

DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Duterte dubbed himself, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, and Christopher “Bong” Go as the Philippines’ “Brightest Stars” in politics.

Recently, the President made an order to ban vaping in public. Adding to this, he also banned the importation of e-cigarettes and other related devices.

During a speech in his visit to Taguig City Center for the Elderly, the President said he considered himself among the brightest in politics. Along on the visit was Cayetano and Go.

However, he mentioned that this could change at the end of his term. “I know that in about two years’ time, that light would dim and I would be nothing“, added the President.

He then noted that life is just like that. Duterte emphasized that there is a time for everything in this world.

For the longest time, the President was a major outlier in the country’s big political scene. But, with encouragement from several parties and massive support from Filipinos, he decided to run for the highest seat in the country.

Go had served the President as his aide for over two decades. Following that, he got a seat in the Senate last May.

Formerly Duterte’s Foreign Secretary, Cayetano was appointed as House Speaker last July. He is under a power-sharing agreement with Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco.

Based on an article from ABS-CBN, Duterte had stated that his presidency was a “gift from God”. However, he had also made a previous statement questioning God’s existence.
