Cotabato Hit by Earthquake with 3.7 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 3.7 magnitude quake in Cotabato, November 15, 2019.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking were felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“.
Recently, a quake has hit a part of Cotabato. At 02:27 pm on November 15, 2019, Makilala was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7. An instrumental intensity was recorded of the said quake.
According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Cotabato was located at 06.88°North, 125.16°East – 012 km South 43° East of Makilala. The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 001 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated that there are no damages and aftershocks expected from the quake. An instrumental Intensity I was recoreded in Malungon, Sarangani.
