Quirino Hit by Earthquake with 4.9 Magnitude
EARTHQUAKE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 4.9 magnitude quake in Quirino, November 13, 2019.
Most of the time, quakes hit with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes.
One of the strong quakes recorded by Phivolcs is the 7.1 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental. There were expected aftershocks due to the said quake and a tsunami advisory was released.
Previously, in April 22, Phivolcs recorded a quake in a part of Zambales. It had a magnitude of 6.1. Strong shaking were felt leaving people fearing about the so-called “Big One“.
Recently, a quake has hit a part of Quirino. At 10:28 pm on November 13, 2019, Nagtipunan was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9. Intensities were recorded of the said quake.

According to Phivolcs, the quake that hit a part of Quirino was located at 16.26°North, 121.72°East – 014 km North 71° East of Nagtipunan. The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 060 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated that there are no damages and aftershocks expected from the quake. The following intensities were recorded:
Intensity IV
- Nagtipunan, Quirino
- Madela, Quirino
- Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya
Intensity III
- Baguio City
