Here’s Reason Why Isko Moreno Forbids Children To Enter Politics
ISKO MORENO – Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso disclosed the reason why he forbids his children to join the politics.
Actor-turned-politician Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is the current mayor of the city of Manila. During his first week as mayor, he immediately ordered to demolish all the street vendors in Divisoria.
The 45-year-old politician aims to bring back the beauty of the “Paris of the East.” He ordered to place new lampposts in Jones Bridge to revive it to its former prestige.
Isko Moreno’s wife Diana Lynn Ditan surprised him during his night inspection at Jones Bridges. They have five children namely Vincent Patrick, Frances Diane, Juaquin Andre, Franco, and Drake.
Reporters from PEP asked the mayor if he would allow his children to join the politics. He was interviewed during Esquire Philippines’ Man At His Best 2019 awards night. In a report, Isko dedicated his “Breakthrough Award” to the Manileños.
According to the report, Isko Moreno forbids his children to enter politics while he is still in the office. He said he would only allow them when he decides to retire.
“I don’t allow my children to be part of the government, not until nasa gobyerno ako… when I retire and they want to go to public service, they can go,” he said.
Based on the report, Isko Moreno said he has no interest in building a political dynasty. “There’s no monopoly of knowledge. While it is true that I believe na ang prutas, hindi bumabagsak na malayo sa kanyang puno, you shouldn’t tell every member of the family to join public service all at the same time,” he said.
“Mahiya naman tayo. I hope sundin nila, ’cause I’m very strict about it. It’s a non-negotiable thing to me,” he added.
