Koreans Support Proposed Military Service Exemption for BTS
BTS – Several Koreans expressed their support to the proposed exemption of the pop superstars from the compulsory military service.
Every country has her own distinctive rule which should be followed by its citizens. In South Korea, it is observed that male citizens aging between eighteen (18) years old to twenty-eight (28) years old should abide by the compulsory military service.
The said military service which would require them to drop whatever they are focusing to and put their attention in the training requires two (2) years. Several Korean celebrities have temporarily bid goodbye to their careers before to serve.
Currently, there is an issue regarding the compulsory military service. There are several Koreans who wanted an exemption for the BTS, a popular group of Koreans. They made a name not only in their country but around the world.
Previously, the government in South Korea released its decision regarding the people’s call for exemption of the BTS from the compulsory military service. The South Korean government did not approve the exemption call.
To this, several Koreans were asked about their side. On Facebook, a post featuring the answers of several Koreans on the issue went viral. As of this writing, it has already reached more than eight (8) thousand shares online.
Based on the post, most Koreans believe that BTS should be exempted from the compulsory military service of two (2) years as they contribute a lot in making their country known to the world. One even stressed that the pop superstars’ topping of billboard charts and winning various awards are enough reason.
A male Korean stressed that exempting the pop superstars from doing military service won’t have negative effect to their country. Another Korean believes that it should be considered since they are boosting the country’s status to the world.
