Janine Gutierrez Share Her Experience Of Being Harassed By A Driver
JANINE GUTIERREZ – The Kapuso actress and model shared her experience of being harassed by a driver outside of her condo unit.
Janine shared her story during a press conference. She said that she recalled a specific story when she went outside to grab food from the coffee shop in front of her condo.
She said that whenever she gets lazy, she goes to that coffee shop to buy food. Janine also added that she often wears shorts.
“As a person, talagang tamad ako mag bihis talaga, as in t-shirts at shorts at tsinelas lang“, Janine said. As she got out of the coffee shop she recalled that there was a car that came up next to her.
The driver rolled down his window and went “Miss, miss, sakay ka rito“. Afterward, Janine shouted at the driver in disgust.
“Sobrang sinigawan ko as in!“. She then points out that this type of incident happens a lot to women.
“If this happened to me, what more for someone who has to walk every day? commute every day? ride a jeep every day?“, the actress said.
She then said that she was lucky and privileged because she doesn’t need to commute every day. She proceeds to say that women who get treated the way she did is never acceptable.
In the press conference, Janine was promoting her latest film, Bababe At Baril. It is also an official entry for QCinema International Film Festival’s Asian Next Wave Competition.
She also said that her goal with her latest movie is to empower women. Adding to this, she wanted to show what women have to go through on a daily basis.
