Christmas Break in Public Elementary & Highschool To Start December 15 Anounced by DepEd

The Department of Education (DepEd) announced that the Christmas break in public elementary and highschool will start on December 15, 2019.

DepEd spokesperson Undersecretary Nepomuceno Malaluan announced that the Christmas break will start in December 15, 2019 (Sunday) since the previous suspension of classes do not affect the schedule of class vacations.

Malaluan said that the classes in public schools would resume on January 6, 2020 (Monday) and explained that the previous class disruptions indicates no deviation from the current school calendar.

“The Christmas break shall begin on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Classes shall resume on Monday, January 6, 2020,” Malaluan said.

The Education Department also said that the administrators of private schools have their own school calendar and may implement a different schedule.

“Private schools have their own school calendar, hence, Christmas break for private school students are set by its school administators,” said DepEd Undersecretary Analyn Sevilla added.
