Vietnamese street foods you must try and eat like a local!
VIETNAMESE STREET FOODS – Here are some of the mouth-watering Vietnamese street foods that you must try in one of you travels.
Vietnam is one of the destinations everyone would like to go and have a visit. Aside from the culture and experiences, the foods and the cost of stay there is also cheap to some. And a travel there without food is definitely incomplete.
Here are some of the must-eat dishes in Vietnam that you should include in your food travels bucket list:
- Rice noodle soup (Phở) – This savory dish along the streets of Vietnam is made of chewy rice noodles in hot delicious broth with slices of beef or chicken topped with crunchy, spicy, and herby garnishes.
- Vietnamese sandwich (Bánh mì) – This is Viet-style French baguette sandwich with fillings inside composed of pickled vegetables, coriander, fresh chilli, cuts of meat – typically pork – and smeared with a coat of pâté with toppings including egg, chicken, meatballs, and more.
- Rice paper salad (Bánh tráng trộn) – This comes with strips of rice paper, variations of dried protein – beef jerky, squid, shrimp – and tart green mango, fresh mint, sweet basil and spicy, sweet, and sour dressing.
- Vietnamese sweet dessert (Chè) – This has variations in forms, sizes, flavours, and colours, typically in the form of pudding, drinks, or soup. The usual ingredients of Che are coconut milk, sweetened beans, glutinous rice, colourful jellies, fruits, and more.
- Hoi An Noodles (Cao lầu) – This dish is exclusive in Hoi An only. It is consist of udon-like noodles, pieces of barbecued pork (similar to char siu), fresh and crisp greens, and crunchy croutons.
- Spring rolls (Gỏi cuốn / Chả giò) – This is a favorite of a lot of people. The rolls has varied fillings such as meat, vegetables, shrimps wrapped in rice paper either deep fried or served fresh that comes best eaten with a dipping sauce.
- Vietnamese pizza (Bánh tráng nướng) – It is made up of rice paper grilled on the barbeque topped with minced pork, prawn, egg or various other toppings. This also comes with fresh herbs and served with mayo, tamarind, or chilli sauce.
