Albert Martinez’s Son Alfonso Speaks on Grandma Amalia Fuentes
ALBERT MARTINEZ – Alfonso Martinez, the son of actor Albert Martinez, spoke about the condition of his grandmother, the late veteran actress Amalia Fuentes, after she had stroke in 2015.
On the early hours of October 5, Saturday, veteran actress Amalia Fuentes breathed her last. She is undeniably one of those who have left a huge mark in the Philippine entertainment industry.
Amalia has done a lot of hit movies. Her loveteam partner before was no other than her late ex-husband Romeo “Bobby” Vasquez. They have a daughter, Liezl Sicangco who became Albert Martinez’s wife.
Amalia died of cardiac arrest. It was four(4) before she passed away when she was brought to the hospital. Amalia’s cause of death was an effect of multiple organ failure.
Expressions of love, sympathy, and condolences overflowed for the family of the late legendary actress. One of those who was really with her in her last hours was her grandson, Alfonso Martinez. He’s the only son of Albert Martinez and Liezl Sicangco.
Speaking to Pep, he revealed the condition of his grandmother following stroke. It was in October 2015 when Amalia Fuentes suffered from stroke.
According to Alfonso, it was really difficult and she was fighting for four(4) years. Following her stroke while she was on a vacation in South Korea in October 2015, the veteran actress could not anymore speak clearly.
Her communication with her family was mainly through eye contact. Meanwhile, they understand each other and the actress can really make her loved ones feel when she is happy.
“It’s more on touching and holding. Kasi, I’m the one who spends time with her… I lived in her house in New Manila. I was taking care of her,” he said.
Based on the report, during her last hours, the son of Albert Martinez called their family and relatives. A priest was also asked to come to the hospital to bless her.
“At least her family was there. We’re all together,” he said.
Alfonso Martinez is happy that his grandmother is now free from sufferings. She is now reunited with her ex-husband Bobby, husband Joey Stevens, daughter Liezl, and brother Cheng Muhlach.
