Veteran actress and former cancer survivor Liezl Martinez passed away on Saturday morning, March 14, 2015 after a long battle with breast cancer. The death of Liezl Martinez was confirmed by her uncle Cheng Muhlach who noted that the actress was confined to a hospital since Monday.
The 47 years old Liezl Martinez was diagnosed with breast cancer during the year 2008 when she was convinced by her friend pop singer Pops Fernandez to undergo for a checkup wherein she was discovered with stage 3 breast cancer.
Three years later, when the actress hair had started to grow long and finally to regain its luster, Liezl Martinez learned her cancer had returned and metastasized to her left lung and she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer.
Meanwhile the uncle of Liezl Martinez, Cheng Muhlach who confirmed the news added further that the wake of the actress is at Arlington.
Liezl Martinez is the wife of veteran actor and one of the country’s most prominent star Albert Martinez, they had three children.
