Russian President Vladimir Putin Vows To Support Duterte Fight VS Terrorism

RUSSIAN PRESIDENT – President of Russia Vladimir Putin vowed to assist President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in his fight against terrorism.

Davaoeño politician Rodrigo Roa Duterte is the current ant 16th president of the Republic of the Philippines. Before assuming the office, he served as the vice mayor and mayor of Davao City for more than 20 years.

Lots of Filipino people rooted for him because of his strict way of managing his people. They also hoped that the 74-year-old chief executive could end the terrorism in the country.

On Tuesday, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte left the country for Russia. Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, Digong is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and the country’s think tank ‘Valdai Discussion Club.’

On Thursday, September 3, the Russian President vowed that he will support the Duterte’s fight against terrorism. He gave the statement during their bilateral meeting.

“Mr. President [Duterte], we are ready to continue to develop our partnership and to share our experience and achievements in the field of counterterrorism,” said Putin.

According to the report, Putin also recollects during President Duterte’s visit to Russia in 2017. He remembered that the Filipino president immediately returns home after hearing about the Marawi siege.

“I recall how you had to fly back home during your previous visit to Russia in May 2017 because of the terrorist attacks staged by ISIS. And over the last two years, you have emerged to lower the level of terrorist threat in your country and to strengthen the potential of your security bodies,” said Putin.

Based on the report, Vladimir Putin also expressed their interest to further strengthen their ties with the Philippines.

“Russian companies are willing to increase the export of energy, aircraft, motor transport and special vehicles to the Philippines. We are interested in promoting industrial cooperation and joint projects in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, space exploration, and digital technology,” he said.
