Pacquiao Confirms Negotiations For Mayweather Rematch
MANNY PACMAN PACQUAIO – The fighting Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao has confirmed that his team is negotiating with Floyd Mayweather’s camp for a possible rematch.
In his visit to Dubai last week for the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, Senator Pacquiao was interviewed by John McAuley of The National. Pacquio told the McAuley that negotiations for the rematch are underway.
“My team and his team are talking right now. This is just about negotiations, about the formal discussions. So I don’t know what will happen”, said Pacquaio.
During the interview, he also commented on Floyd Mayweather. He said that Floyd came to Saudi, Dubai and UAE various time to look for a fight.
But, due to Mayweathers high demands, organizers and promoters were given a hard time, added Pacquiao. He even said that Mayweather was giving the government a hard time.
However, according to a report by the Manila times, Sean Gibbons, the MP Promotions president said that he was not aware of any negotiations. Although, Gibbons did reveal the potential candidates for Pacman’s next fight.
In this previous article, we learned that Pacman will likely end up going into the ring with welterweight contenders. These would be Mikey Garcia or Danny Garcia.
Both Mikey and Danny are former world champions as well. Danny carries an impressive 35-2 record, which includes 21 KOs.
Mikey on the other hand has a 39-1 record with 30 KOs. Along with this, Mikey is also a four-division champion, while Danny held super lightweight and welter weight belts.
Shaw Porter is also a possible opponent for Pacquiao. That is, if he wins his super fight with Errol Spence Jr, according to Kevin Lole.
