PAGASA – Marilyn Reduces Speed As It Moves Northwest

PAGASA – Weather state bureau PAGASA recently announced that tropical depression Marilyn reduced speed as it continues to move northwest.

The bureau further added in their 11AM bulletin that the weather disturbance reduced to 10 kilometers per hour form her previous 4AM speed which is 20 kilometers per hour.

A report from Inquirer states that Marilyn brought maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour. The weather bureau said that it is expected to have a slight chance to make landfall.

The following areas will face frequent light to moderate with instances of heavy rains:

  • Palawan
  • Western Visayas
  • Zamboanga Peninsula
  • BARMM

As per the report, meanwhile, the following areas will face occasional light to moderate rainfall with chances of heavy rain within thunderstorms:

  • Metro Manila
  • Calabarzon
  • Bicol Region
  • North Mindanao
  • Soccksargen
  • the rest of Mimaropa
  • Central Visayas
  • Eastern Visayas

Eastern and central Visayas,will face strong winds as it moves southwestward while their coastal waters are rough.

Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will face moderate to strong winds moving southwest with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Moderate winds moving northeast to northwest will be faced by the rest of Luzon with moderate coastal waters.
