OOTD GUIDE – Here are some guidelines in dressing up for those who have an apple-shaped body where your weight tends to form in your stomach.
Those who have an apple-shaped body figure has no defined waist, weight forming in their stomach, and bust size from average to large. This is the shape which typically develops after 40 where menopausal symptoms surfaces and you tend to gain weight in your stomach area.
Now, with this shape, what could be the flattering outfits? Read below:
- To take away attention from your mid-body’s area, avoid low shorts or pants, high-cut shirts, or any fabric length that is below or above your middle, wearing with different pattern on the belly area, and thick belts.
- Give emphasis to your bust, thus, wear v-necks, plunging necklines, or A-line dresses to make your body appear longer. Don’t wear elaborate necklaces or tops with ornate patterns near the neck as per Stitch Fix.
- One way to balance your look is showing off your legs by wearing something short in the bottom match with some heels. As much as possible, try to avoid wearing big heavy boots, leggings, or skinny jeans as these will only make your legs appear smaller.
- When it comes to tops, do avoid those with a halter, very high necklines, decorated neckline, off-the shoulder cut, or boat neck as these details will make your shoulder look broader.
