Here are the various heart conditions that you don’t know yet.

HEART CONDITIONS – Here are the various types of conditions and diseases of the human heart that you probably don’t know about yet.

The human heart is the most important organ that pumps blood all throughout the body through the circulatory system. It supplies other nutrients and oxygen as it also removes carbon dioxide and other wastes in the body.

Heart Conditions

However, if the human heart is not taken care of, these are the conditions that it could possibly obtain:

  • Coronary artery disease – This is caused by cholesterol plaques that can narrow arteries that supply blood to the heart. This comes with a higher risk of heart attack.
  • Stable angina pectoris – Narrowed coronary arteries causes chest pain to which these blockages prevent the heart from having extra oxygen.
  • Unstable angina pectoris – A chest pain or discomfort which is alarming as it can precede heart attack, serious abnormal heart rhythm, or cardiac arrest.
  • Myocardial infarction (heart attack) – This is where a part of the muscle dies because of lack of oxygen as the coronary artery suddenly gets blocked.
  • Arrhythmia – This is an abnormal heart rhythms to which some are benign and some are threatening.
  • Congestive heart failure – The heart could either be too weak or too stiff to pump blood. Its common symptoms include shortness of breathing and swelling of leg.
  • Cardiomyopathy – A disease where the heart is abnormally enlarged, thickened, and/or stiffened which makes it weak to effectively pump blood.
  • Myocarditis – This is an inflammation of heart muscle caused by viral infection.
  • Pericarditis – Inflammation of the lining of the heart (pericardium) caused by viral infections, kidney failure, and autoimmune conditions.
  • Pericardial effusion – The fluid between pericardium and the heart.
  • Atrial fibrillation – Irregular heartbeats due to abnormal electrical impulses in atria.
  • Pulmonary embolism – A blood clot travelling from heart to lungs.
  • Heart valve disease – The four valves of the heart can each have problems and the severity could lead to congestive heart failure.
  • Heart murmur – This is an abnormal sound of the heart when heard through a stethoscope.
  • Endocarditis – This is an inflammation of the inner lining or valves of the heart due to an infection.
  • Sudden cardiac death – Sudden loss of heart function that leads to death.
  • Cardiac arrest – The heart loses its function suddenly based on WebMD.
