Apple Apologizes For Listening To Siri Voice Recordings, Makes Changes
APPLE – The company behind Apple recently is sorry for Siri, their digital assistant, for sharing voice recordings with workers.
A report from GMA states that this prompted the company to make changes to their rules regarding the handling conversation data.
The changes includes allowing the quality control employees to evaluate conversations to customer who agreed to the Siri grading program in order to enhance voice recognition technology.
The company also added that any recordings used for the said program will immediately be removed by default.
The company further added that they found out that they haven’t entirely lived up to their high ideals, prompting them to apologize for that matter.
The company further added that they decide to make a few configurations to Siri as a result coming from concerns expressed about the program. They said that their goal with their digital assistant is to give the best experience for their customers and at the same time, protecting the privacy from the customers.
As per the report, the transcripts from the conversation, which are generated from the computer, will continue to be utilized to enhance the ability of Siri to understand what individuals mean.
The Siri grading program was suspended by the company after news spread out that the contractors were listening to conversations that contain confidential medical information, criminal dealings and instances of sensual encounters.
Along with Facebook and Amazon, they were also criticized for allegedly using contractors to listen to conversations in order to improve their AI software.
