Still Unidentified Suspects Shot Isabela Barangay Chairman While He’s Aboard A Van
ISABELA BARANGAY CHAIRMAN – The chairman of Brgy. Bubug in Santo Tomas was shot by still unidentified suspects while he was riding in a van.
Currently, incidents that are taking lives of people continue to happen. The common scenario is a politician being the target of the suspects who lodged their motives unexpectedly.
One of the latest in the list is the death of vice mayor in Quezon Province. His house was entered by the suspects and he was shot. The public servant did not survive the incident.
Recently, another incident has added on the list. It also involves a member of the local government but in a barangay level.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, an Isabela barangay chairman was shot by still unidentified suspects. He was riding a van that was driven by a barangay kagawad when the incident took place.
The victim was identified as Manuel Ramento. The 40-year-old barangay chairman is serving Barangay Bubug in Santo Tomas. He was supposedly on his way home when the incident happened.
Based on the report, when the victims’ vehicle reached a road in Barangay Bagabag, the suspects lodged their motive. They were hiding in the plantation of corn when they fired on the van.
Ramento was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, the barangay chairman did not survive the incident. The driver of the vehicle, Barangay Kagawad May Glenn Padre, obtains wounds and is currently treated in a hospital.
Aside from the public officials, there were two(2) other passengers in the van. One of them is a child and they also obtained wounds.
As of this writing, the police authorities are still investigating the incident that led to the death of a barangay chairman. We’ll keep you posted for updates.
