Vice Ganda, Bianca, Pia Support Reacts on Trans Woman Restroom Issue
VICE GANDA – Kapamilya celebrities such as Vice Ganda, Bianca Gonzales, and Pia Wurtzbach reacted on the restroom issue of the trans woman Gretchen Diez.
Following a previous article, transgender woman Gretchen Custodio Deiz was disallowed by a mall employee to use the ladies room. She was handcuffed and brought the Quezon City police station on Tuesday, August 13.
The incident elicited a reaction from lots of LGBTQ members including Senator Risa Hontiveros. She condemned the alleged harassment of the trans woman and gave her a lawyer to file a complaint against the janitress.
Based on a report from PEP, the trans woman also earned supports from famous personalities like Ice Seguerra, KaladKaren, Frankie Pangilinan, Heart Evangelista, and Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman.
The transgender congresswoman, Roman, also filed a resolution to the Kamara seeking a probe in the alleged harassment of Diez.
According to the report, Kapamilya celebrities Vice Ganda, Pia Wurtzbach, and Bianca Gonzalez took to the social media to express their reaction on the restroom issue of the trans woman. The Anti-Discrimination Bill of Senator Hontiveros was energized by the issue.
It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda expressed his pity towards the LGBTQ+ community because their rights were taken due to their sexual orientation. He also wished that the ‘Anti-Discrimination’ bill will be approved soon.
Meanwhile, prominent host Bianca Gonzales praised all the people who showed support to the trans woman. She revealed that she previously attended a SOGIE forum and asked if will it become mandatory.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach shared a photo of Gingerbread Person chart on her Instagram account. She did not directly mention the restroom issue of Diez but most netizens assumed that it was.
Based on the report, the chart was a “teaching tool for breaking the big concept or gender down into bite-sized, digestible pieces.”
