Fishing Vessel Capsizes Off Brunei, DFA Confirms It Carries 7 Filipinos

FILIPINOS – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that seven(7) Pinoys were aboard the fishing vessel that capsized off Brunei.

Sadly, recently, there were several incidents of boats and fishing vessels capsizing amid a trip. One of those that left countless hearts in grief was the capsizing of three(3) motorboats in the waters between Guimaras and Iloilo in the Philippines.

The Iloilo-Guimaras incident left thirty-one(31) people dead. There were more than fifty(50) survivors and most were grieving over the lost of their loved ones.

Recently, abroad, another vessel carrying several Pinoys capsized. The incident happened off the coast of Brunei.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that seven(7) Filipinos were carried by the fishing vessel that capsized in Brunei. According to the Department, search and rescue operations have already started.

The Radims 2 was carrying 11 ship crew and two(2) have been rescued. Through a statement, the DFA assured that it is coordinating with the authorities in Brunei regarding the incident.

As of this writing, there are still no further details regarding the incident. We’ll keep you posted for updates.
