Official Death Toll of the Iloilo-Guimaras Incident Revealed by CDRRMC

ILOILO-GUIMARAS INCIDENT – The Iloilo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) announced the official death toll of the sea accident in the waters between Iloilo province and Guimaras.

One of the most heartbreaking incidents that recently took place was the capsizing of three(3) motorboats in the waters between Iloilo province and Guimaras. It took place on Saturday and many people were involved in the sea accident.

Three(3) motorboats, Chi-Chi, Keziah, and Jenny Vince, capsized due to the strong winds that suddenly hit while they were in the waters. The boats got passengers aside from the crew.

Unfortunately, several lives were lost due to the incident. Most families who traveled lost a loved one and many were left devastated.

Iloilo-Guimaras Incident

Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, the CDRRMC has announced the official death toll of the Iloilo-Guimaras incident. It is at 31. A total of sixty-five(65) people survived the sea accident.

Reportedly, out of the 65 survivors, 52 of them are passengers and 13 are members of the crew. On Tuesday, two(2) more bodies were recovered in Dumangas waters.

The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) is currently investigating the sea accident. Based on the report, 73 passengers were on the manifesto while 10 others were not recorded.

Currently, the Marina has suspended the motorbance operations taking the Iloilo-Guimaras route.
