Latest Updates on Tropical Storm Hanna Released by PAGASA

The state weather bureau PAGASA released the latest updates regarding the Tropical Storm Hanna as it enhances the southwest monsoon.

On Tuesday (August 6, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the latest weather updates in the country.

PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm Hanna with an international name “Lekima” is almost stationary after it was last spotted at 815 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan.

Hanna has maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 105 kph. The weather disturbance is also expected to intensify into a severe tropical storm any time today.

The tropical storm continues to enhance the southwest monsoon that brings an inclement weather condition in several areas.

Moderate to heavy rains are expected over Mimaropa, Aklan, and Antique. Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to affect Bicol, Calabarzon, Zambales, Bataan, and the rest of Western Visayas.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country would have isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

Meanwhile, the weather agency warned the fisher folks that sea travel over the seaboards of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao remains risky.

Hanna was expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday (August 9, 2019), according to the weather bureau.
