Indeed this controversy has created a loud buzz in the Philippines entertainment industry these past few days. Gerald and Julia are facing cheating allegations from netizens. This is especially when Bea said that the actor, who was known to be her boyfriend suddenly stopped talking to her.
Several celebrities also showed support to Bea which made the issue more controversial. The term “ghosting” went viral on social media as netizens referred this act to what Gerald did to his known girlfriend.
Even Paulo Avelino, who is one of Bea’s friend tweeted the hashtag “ghosting” with his term “na-Bea Alonzo”. He explained in a previous report why he decided to tweet that amid the burning heat of the issue. He said that he just wanted to make things lighter and thought of posting something light and funny.
Amid the cheating allegations, the camp of Julia defended her against ill comments. Her mother Marjorie Barretto clarified the controversial posts from a hotel where they appeared to checked-in on the same day. Julia’s sister, Dani Barretto was also ready to defend her side.
However, the young actress is still receiving bashing on social media, especially that she chose to be silent about the issue. Her grandmother Inday Barretto already entered the scenario to defend her.
Meanwhile, after more than a week since the issue surfaced, Bea Alonzo is now doing well. Paulo Avelino revealed about this. During a recent interview, he gave a short update.
“Mukhang okay naman siya. She’s getting better,” the actor said. He also confirmed that he, along with Bea and Angel Locsin, Angelica Panganiban, JC de Vera, Bela Padilla, Ejay Falcon, Ivana Alawi, Ketchup Eusebio, at si Dreamscape Entertainment Head Deo Endrinal were together at ABS-CBN trade launch in PICC Forum, Pasay City, last July 23.
