Passport Application Open for Postal ID Beginning August 2019

POSTAL ID – The ID issued by the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) can be accepted in passport application starting August 2019.

Undeniably, a lot of people are applying and planning to apply for a Philippines passport to travel to other countries. Some are into it for business purposes or travel while others want to work abroad.

However, passport application may not be as easy as 1,2, and 3. There are requirements set and an applicant will need to present valid identification cards (IDs).

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News / ANC Headstart, the Department of Foreign Affairs will start accepting Postal ID beginning August 1, 2019 along with the availability of the system to check the authenticity of the ID.

According to PHLPost Marketing and Support Services PostMaster General Assistant Luis Carlos, the web service developed can verify even those presented in regional areas.

Based on the report, the acceptance of the PHLPost ID in applying for passport is a good news to many people. It is one of the IDs that can be applied for in a rush process thus you can have it soon compared to other government-issued IDs.
