RARE DOG BREEDS – Here are some of the rare breeds of dogs that we don’t usually meet in a day to day basis and be ready to get amazed of them.
Dogs are everyone’s best friend. They could be the most loving and most loyal animal we could ever have. However, there are actually breeds that we don’t actually see everyday. Surely, there are hundreds of breeds out there but what we have listed below are some of the rarest that their distribution are only to several countries.

- Merle Pit Bull – They are considered as one of the most dangerous as they are bred for dog fighting but with the right training they could turn to be as loyal and as friendly just like the others. But what made this breed rare is their skin color where a splash of black is spread unevenly over their body.
- Catalburun – What makes them really special and unusual is their noses. Normally, dogs just have one nose but this breed, they have two noses which is inborn. They have strong hunting instinct.
- Mexican Hairless Dog – They are ancient dogs and their names says itself why they are rare. These breed is even associated to ancient gods.
- Bergamasco Shepherd – They look strange and yet really fluffy. They bred as herding dogs and their thick hair is not only for weather adjustments but also a defense against a possible predator.
- Tibetan Mastiff – This massive dog is also considered as ancient and believed to be the ancestors of all shepherd dogs and mastiff dogs. They can weigh as much as 60 to 70 kilograms and a height of 60 to 77 centimeters.
- Thai Ridgeback – They are so rare that they can only be found in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia. This bred is also told as an ancient one and scientists still debate where they are bred.
- Basenji – They can’t bark which is absolutely unusual for dogs. They just make some sounds when they are excited, their wrinkles when they put their ear together, and they don’t have the unpleasant odors.
- Azawakh – They are not thin, they are really just like that for they are from a very hot country, thus, explains their quite odd body built. They are muscular, thin, no excess fats, and long legs which is an advantage for their speed.
- Bedlington Terrier – They are from United Kingdom from where they have originated, they are made use for hunting. Now, they are one of the most expensive and rarest dog breeds and can often be seen with the aristocrats.
