8k Cops Set To Be Deployed in QC To Secure SONA 2019, PNP Says
SONA 2019 – The Philippine National Police (PNP) is set to deploy about 8,000 police officers to secure President Duterte’s fourth SONA.
President Rodrigo Duterte is set to deliver his speech for his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) to tackle different issues in the country.
The July 2019 SONA will be held at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.
However, the authorities are already expecting protesters at the Batasang Pambansa Complex South Gate.
The PNP would deploy around 8,000 police officers in Quezon City to secure this year’s SONA and to prevent any untoward incident.
Protesters will be allowed to perform their stage demonstration only 50 meters away from the venue.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major General Guillermo Eleazar would ensure the peaceful atmosphere and the protesters on SONA day.
“Ang tinitignan natin is ‘yung three years na maayos. Hindi makakabuti para kanino on both sides kung hindi susunod sa mga simpleng usapan na hangarin lang naman ay seguridad ng bawat lahat,” Guillermo said.
