Duterte To Deliver Short Speech in SONA 2019, Malacañang Palace Says
Malacañang Palace said that President Rodrigo Duterte would deliver a ‘short’ speech in his fourth State of the Nation Address.
On Tuesday (July 16, 2019), Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that the upcoming speech of Mr. Duterte in SONA 2019 would be short.
Panelo’s announcement regarding the President’s fourth SONA is contrary to his lengthy speeches during his previous SONAs.
“By the way, he said that, because I asked him about the Sona this morning. He said, ‘Oh, it will be short,’” Panelo said.
The spokesperson also joked that the speech might last for approximately two hours.
The presidential aid explained that President Duterte’s speech in SONA 2019 would be short because of the pre-Sonas this month.
President Duterte would discuss the achievement of his administration on a particular year, according to Panelo.
Panelo also thinks that Mr. Duterte would not repeat his speech during the pre-Sonas.
SONA 2016 lasts for one hour and 32 minutes while SONA 2017 ended after two hours.
