Eddie Garcia Mentioned by Dingdong Dantes in Speech for Eddys
DINGDONG DANTES – Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes spoke about the late veteran actor Eddie Garcia in his speech for Eddys.
Recently, the 3rd Eddys Awards night was held in New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. One of the awardees is actor-television host Dingdong Dantes, the Kapuso Prime-Time King.
Dingdong was awarded as best actor for his portrayal of his role in the movie Sid & Aya: Not A Love Story. He worked with Kapamilya actress Anne Curtis in the movie directed by Irene Villamor.
In his speech for his Eddys Best Actor award, Dingdong Dantes spoke about the late veteran actor Eddie Garcia who is his inspiration to do better in his craft.
The veteran actor met an accident in June and passed away on the 20th day of the same month. He was working for a Kapuso TV series when the accident took place and left him in critical condition over cervical fracture.
Based on a report on Pep, Dingdong Dantes admitted that he is sad for he was not given an opportunity to work with Eddie Garcia. Meanwhile, according to him, he experienced the “Eddie Magic” by listening to the stories of the people who have worked with the late veteran actor.
“Naikukuwento sa akin kung ano yung magic na nararamdaman nila tuwing kasama nila si G. Eddie Garcia,” he said.
According to Dingdong, the example set by Tito Eddie is what the new generation should emulate and the things he should follow as an actor.
Dingdong Dantes believes that he is learning from everyone he works with. According to him, the basis is not how many films an actor has made but the wonderful relationships built during the process.
Based on the report, Dingdong expressed his gratitude to Direk Irene and Anne Curtis and to the people behind Eddys.
The actor offered his award for Tito Eddie, for his wife, his children, his parents, his siblings, and above all, the Almighty.
“Sa ating Panginoon, na binigyan Ninyo ako ng pagkakataon na magkuwento through movies. Hindi ko po sasayangin ang talentong ito. Mamahalin ko po ang trabaho ko lalo,” the Kapuso actor said.
