EXCUSE LETTER – Here is a guide on how to write it for being an absent in school or at work.

In both work and school, attendance is checked daily as part of the performance requirement. Every school or workplace impose rules regarding the attendance expected from the employees and students.

Some companies and work places request for a letter from the employee who’s absent while to schools, it is a protocol. Students must submit a letter to be excused from the day’s tasks.

The requirement is usually what we call the “excuse letter”. It states the reason why a certain student or employee is absent in school or work. It is addressed to the teacher-adviser in the case of students and to the human resource (HR) officer in the workplace.

In this article, we will discuss how to write an excuse letter from being absent in school or at work.

The excuse letter should contain these important parts:

  • Name and Address / Designation of the Receiver
  • Reason for Absence
  • Exact Date
  • Name and Signature of the Sender

In the case of the students, it is usually the parents who write a letter for the absence of their children. Here is an example of the letter:
