What are the different types of acne and how is it treated?

ACNE – Most common skin condition of many people is probably having acne on the face where there are different types and particular treatments needed.

Everyone absolutely wants a clear and glowing skin that is why we seek over-the-counter products to rescue our dilemma, the acne. However, everyone should note that there are different types of acne and in each type, there is particular cure and treatment.

BLACKHEADS

Meanwhile, other ingredients from over-the-counter products will also be of help such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, sulfur, and resorcinol. Also, other ways include washing of warm water and soap twice in a day, reduce stress, healthy diet, hydrated, don’t expose to sun too much, and put sunscreen when staying outdoors.

PAPULES

  • These are solid, tender, pink, and are raising in the surface.
  • You can treat it with drying lotions or spot treatments.
  • Wash the affected area with water and soap twice daily with clean hands. Fight bacteria with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid to get rid of dead skin.

PUSTULES

  • They are the small and raised bump on the skin that is color red and swollen because of inflammation. It has a white or yellow pus at the center due to the bacteria.
  • Just like with papules, you can use the said ingredients to prevent and heal it.

NODULES

  • They are inflamed lumps that are painful and hard which is deep beneath skin. These can cause dark spots or scarring. They have pus within and appear red.
  • In this severe skin condition, you will have to see a dermatologist as this needs intensive care.

CYSTS

  • They are often cause by hormones but much worse than your regular pimples and slow to heal because the pores are blocked.
  • The lump is filled with pus.
  • Clean the area and chemically exfoliate and use something to fight the infection. See a dermatologist for this is as well a severe skin condition.
