PARENTING TIPS: DOs & DON’Ts When It Comes To Raising A Child

Here are some parenting tips every parents probably need to know.

PARENTING TIPS – Here are some of the tips and ways every parent or future parents probably need to know about raising their children.

In raising a kid to be a good person, parents play a vital role – they should be the person they wanted their children to become. With the child’s young mind, they learn best to what they see and that is through imitation. And there are as well these “Dos” and what you “Shouldn’t do” when raising one.

Parenting Tips

See below:

  • Be the role model – If you want them to be loving, caring, and compassionate, show them how to do it. If you want them to be kind, let them see what is real kindness through your actions. Parents are child’s greatest influencers.
  • Communicate – Never stop talking with them. If they did something bad, talk to them and explain that they did is not good. If they did something good, reward them and explain why it was good.

  • Set rules and impose consequence immediately – Set your own rules. If you want them to go to bed at 8 P.M., be firm about it. And if they did otherwise, act to it right away but not in a way that could hurt them physically or emotionally. Ban bad-mouthing, pushing, hitting, and other acts that could imply pain.
  • Never spank – Stop spanking a child as a form of discipline. External form of any hurt is a “big No-No” to every child. It might either create a trauma or they’ll find ways not to get caught if they did something wrong for they are conditioned to just get hurt physically when caught.
  • Don’t shout at them – No. Screaming and yelling to impose authority is not effective. It will only intimidate the child.

  • Focus on their health – Never forget all the essential vaccinations and vitamins they need for growing up. Also, never neglect a cough, a mosquito bite, and be alarmed if they vomit green.
  • Let them play – Let the child play and have interaction with other children. Let them enjoy childhood. Monitor their use of phones and internet. As much as possible, let them play outside for their physical health.

  • Support them – If your child wants to dance, enroll her in a dance class, if she wants to draw, buy her drawing materials. Support them and encourage them on what they want and their passion.
  • Don’t give up on them – If they become troublesome, never ever give up on them. Work out their problem and give them the proper support they needed.
