Determined to fight for her homeland, Mulan steps in to take her ill father’s place to become a part of the Imperial Army when the Emperor issued a decree that one man should step up to serve in the army per family.

Recently, the teaser was released for the live-action remake. It first appeared last Sunday. The teaser shows how the classic story will adapt to the new era.

Despite the teaser featuring some aesthetic representation from the original film, the internet noticed one specific absence that caused an outrage.

The absence of one certain character sparked online discussion about the movie. Some people thought the movie would not be the same without the character as it plays a huge part in the tale.

In the original tale, Mulan went about her journey with a dragon “Mushu” who was tasked to watch over her.

There were speculations regarding the live-action, that have stated that Mushu may not be in the film. Rumors say, the dragon could be represented as a phoenix in the adaptation, or not appear at all.

Fans have voice out their thought online on different social media platforms talking about the lack of the wise dragon.

Some people have accepted the possible fact that the film took a new story line without Mushu and some felt that his absence would ruin the film and ruin their childhood with the possible changes.

This based on an article from ComicBook.

Mulan was played by the Chinese-American actress Liu Yifei in the live-action remake.

That is all there is to it, at least for now. We’ll post updates as soon as we got them.
