Photos of Boracay Submerged in Floodwaters Circulate Online

A disappointed netizen has shared the photos of the famous tourist destination Boracay Island submerged in floodwaters.

Boracay Island is one of the most popular tourist spots in the Philippines because of its white sand and crystal clear water.

Thousands of foreign and local tourists were visiting the island every day with the aim to have a great experience in the famous haven.

Recently, a Facebook user named Trish Tatoy has shared the photos of Boracay Island submerged in floodwaters.

Trish called the attention of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) regarding the issue.

The disappointed netizen said that long term solution requires a lot of planning, time, and resources, which would take a few years to be done properly.

DPWH & DENRs world class/Villar class band-aid solution. Long-term solutions takes a lot of planning, time & resources. Definitely not in 6 months. Probably a few years if done properly. Nag-pauto naman kayo. d30 pa more!”
