BFAR Is Planning To Give 22 Unsinkable Vessels To Recto Bank Incident Survivors
BFAR – The state’s Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) have already set to provide 22 unsinkable vessels to Recto Bank incident survivors.
An unexpected incident occurred recently at the Recto Bank that ended up with the sinking of a Filipino vessel affecting 22 Filipino Crew. The incident sparked media and public attention for the past few days.

After the reported incident, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) decided to take action and planned to give away 11 of the 22 pledged fiberglass boats for the fishermen survivors on Wednesday.
Director Elizer Salilig – officer-in-charge at FAR-MIMAROPA revealed that an initial distribution will be done by Wednesday. He said:
“Bukas, mayroong initial distribution (of fiberglass boats), 11 pieces. Malaki rin, 30-footer ‘yun. Ang capacity niya, 15 people. Unsinkable, made of fiberglass.”

On top of being made of fiberglass, the 22 boats are not only made with high quality material but are also equipped with marine engines and fishing gear.
Salilig also claimed that financial aid will also be granted to the survivors aside from the 22 boats. The financial aid will be provided by the Department of Agriculture lead by Secretary Manny Piñol.

Salilig revealed this in his statement:
“Mayroong ibibigay si Secretary (referring to Piñol). Bukas malalaman magkano ‘yung financial na tulong ng Bureau of Fisheries.”

Maritime Situational Awareness Center-West (MSAC-West) on June 10 has been notified by the boat captain of FB 076 that a Chinese vessel allegedly hit a Filipino vessel.
