The filing of COC of Isko Moreno as Manila Mayor looked like there’s a fiesta
Department of Social Welfare and Development Under Secretary Isko Moreno filed his COC as Mayor of Manila and it looked like there’s a fiesta in front of Comelec.
Before he entered politics, Isko started to be known as one of the stars in German Moreno’s That’s Entertainment.
He started his political career in 1998 when he was elected as Councilor of Manila’s first congressional district.
Isko was re-elected on the same position in 2001 and 2014. He became the Vice Mayor of the city in 2007.
The actor turned politician aimed for a higher position when he decided to try his luck in Senate during the 2016 elections.
On the other hand, he did not get the slot as a Senator. Last year, President Rodrigo Duterte appointed him as the DSWD Usec.
For the 2019 elections, Isko Moreno aims to lead the Manila. His recent filing of certificate of candidacy caught the attention of many people.
It is for the reason that there were a lot of people who went with him to Comelec.
On the social media post of Inquirer, it can be seen in the video that there was a band following the Manila Mayor aspirant.
There were also countless supporters who even carried some placards to show support to Isko Moreno.
His supporters are all wearing white T-shirts with his name.
In a statement, the DSWD Usec. said that it is time for Manila to have a young leader.
“Hindi naman po kami galit sa kanila. In fact, sa nasabi ko na, napagbigyan na po namin sila. Nakapagparaya na po kami. Kami namang mga batang Maynila and dapat mamuno sa lungsod ng Maynila,” Isko Moreno said.
