Pia Wurtzbach Says “It’s Every Actress’ Dream To Portray Darna”
PIA WURTZBACH – Beauty Queen Pia Wurtzbach said every actress’ dream to portray the iconic role.
A few months ago, Liza Soberano announced that have to withdraw from the movie ‘Darna’ due to her finger injury.
After that, lots of beautiful actresses from both Kapamilya and Kapuso network said they’re interested in the iconic role.
Among the celebrities who want to be the next Darna are Julia Barretto, Nadine Lustre, Sanya Lopez, and Pia Wurtzbach.
In a previous article, Miss Universe 2015 expressed that she’ll do everything for the role.
“Kung papalarin na ibibigay sa akin ‘yung role na Darna, tatanggapin ko. I will work hard, I will train, I will attend workshops. Ibibigay ko lahat ng lakas ko. But, of course, it’s ABS-CBN’s decision, in the end, to see who is the perfect fit to play the role,” she said.
During the ‘World Gin Day 2019’ celebration hosted by Ginebra San Miguel on June 7, Pia Wurtzbach was asked about the iconic role.
Based on a report from Inquirer, the beauty queen said she’s praying for the recovery of Liza Soberano so she would still be able to portray as Darna.
“I’m praying for Liza to recover… I was able to talk to [Liza] when we did ‘ASAP’ in Australis, about her preparations. She trained really hard for the role and gave her 100 percent,” said Pia.
According to the report, Pia told the Liza Soberano to focus on her recovery. She also reminded her about the people who love and supports her including her.
She was also asked if she’ll consider accepting the opportunity if it will be offered to her.
“It’s a sought-after role. It’s every actress’ dream to portray that iconic character,” Pia explained.
