DepEd Releases Statement After Viral Restroom Turned Faculty Room In Bacoor

DEPED – The Department of Education (DepEd) released a statement regarding the viral CR turned faculty room in Bacoor.

Following a previous article, a teacher from Bacoor National High School shared several photos of a restroom as “faculty room” of her fellow teachers.

The photos went viral on social media and it made lots of netizens react to the poor situation of the teachers.

The teachers claimed that they were forced to use the comfort room, hallway, and the stockroom since the school lacked classrooms.

Bacoor Principal Anita Rom said she offered them to use the library or social hall temporarily but they refused.

In a previous article, the principal filed charges against the teacher who uploaded the photos in social media.

Rom said the faculty president just humiliated herself and the whole school to the public.

Recently, DepEd finally broke their silence regarding the issue of the Bacoor principal and the teachers.

Based on a report from Manila Bulletin, DepEd reminded the teachers and staff about the “appropriate administrative procedures” if ever they have an issue or concern in their schools.

The Education Department is “exerting all efforts to facilitate a solution acceptable to all officials and teachers in regard to the faculty room issue.”

“Concrete steps have been undertaken to resolve any conflict in the interest of orderly operations of the school,” it added.

According to the report, the viral photos the CR turned faculty room spoil the opening of the school year 2019-2020.

The agency said the first day of classes has been a problem for several years now since the student population increased yearly.

Based on the report, DepEd expressed that overpopulation and lack of classrooms are “special cases.

They said the viral photos do not reflect all the public schools in the Philippines.
