Authorities Arrest Janiuay, Iloilo Mayor-Elect Frankie Locsin
JANIUAY ILOILO MAYOR – Frankie Locsin, the elected mayor in a province in Iloilo, was arrested by the authorities.
The Election 2019 is over and the people already knew the winners of the political bid. In Iloilo, one of those who was hailed winner during the election is former Janiuay Mayor Frankie Locsin.
Locsin won the mayoralty race. However, just around three weeks after the election, he was arrested.
Based on a recent report on Manila Bulletin, Janiuay, Iloilo Mayor-elect Frankie Locsin is faced with a graft case and an arrest warrant has already been issued.
The graft case was over his violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act when he procured P15 million worth of medicines.
Based on the report, Locsin procured it from a supplier that is not accredited by the Department of Health when he was the town mayor.
The Supreme Court uphold the 2015 decision of the Sandiganbayan and an arrest warrant against Frankie Locsin was released. However, following his arrest, the elected Iloilo town mayor fell ill.
Locsin was rushed to the hospital and is currently under a hospital arrest.
