Hidilyn Diaz asks for financial assistance for her Tokyo 2020 Olympic stint.
HIDILYN DIAZ – Olympic silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz appeals for financial assistance for her Tokyo 2020 Olympics aiming for the gold medal.
“It is okay to ask sponsorship sa mga private companies towards Tokyo 2020? Sa tingin niyo okay lang kaya, nahihiya kasi ako pero try ko kapalan mukha ko para sa minimithi kong pangarap para sa ating bansa na maiuwi ang Gold Medal sa Olympics,” says the Olympic silver medalist and Asian Games weightlifting gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz in a post.
This is due to lack of financial support she gets from the government. The post has gathered various comments soon as it was posted online. She is to compete in the International Weightlifting Federation World Championships in Pattaya, Thailand which will be held on September 18 to 27, 2019. This is her last Olympic qualifier for the year and snatching a gold medal can definitely elevate her ranking for the quadrennial meet.
She had this online rift with Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas president Monico Puentevella last October but the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Butch Ramirez vowed to give her enough financial support for the Tokyo 2020.
Moreover, Diaz is among those who receives the highest allowances in the national pool.

di ba may partylist si Pacman para sa athletes? nanalo ba? kung nanalo dapat tuparin pinangako nila lalo sa mga atleta
Go set up a go fund me and I’d be happy to donate my allowance the week. I’m a student, I don’t have much but if we chip in maybe we can get her enough funds for the training.
To qualify for Olympics marami talagang gastos. Yung coach at training staff. Yung equipment, gears at daily expenses. Isali pa natin ticket fares at accommodation sa Tokyo.
