Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez Got No Ill Feelings Against House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
ALVAREZ – Davao del Norte Representative Pantaleon Alvarez asserted that he has no ill will against House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
In July 2018, the happenings during the third State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte surprised a lot of people. An ouster of a House Speaker took place.
Then-House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez was replaced by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The unexpected happening took the spotlight and sparked a lot of reports.
Now, it is less than three months before his ouster becomes a year ago. Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez asserted that he has no ill will against former Pres. and now House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN, speaking to ANC Headstart, the former House Speaker expressed that he and House Speaker Arroyo have no problem.
According to him, it is just that they have not met to talk. He admitted that he stopped attending House sessions after he was ousted as the House Speaker.
During the interview, the former House Speaker said that he went home to his home province after his ouster and attended to the needs of his constituents.
“Umuwi na ako ng probinsya. Nasa district na ako, umiikot ako… I was attending to the needs of my constituents,” he said.
Based on the report, Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez assured that he will still greet House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo if ever they will meet.
The former President on her final term as a House Speaker now. Her term is set to end on June 30. On the part of Rep. Alvarez, he is reportedly vying for the speakership again.
