MAN – A 35-year-old man’s cause of death is suspected to be bites coming from a crocodile(s) in Palawan.
Undeniably, one of the most risky animals that you can encounter is a crocodile. It can fight and attack a person may it be in the land or water as it can walk and swim.
In the Philippines, there is a place declared as a sanctuary of crocodiles. It is the Canipaan in Rizal, Palawan.
Recently, a 35-year-old man in Palawan was found dead and it is suspected that the cause of his death are crocodile bites.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, on Thursday, Jomar Banggali of Sitio Bulikawa in Barangay Canipaan went missing in Canipaan River. His body was found a day after.
According to Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) spokesperson forester Joviv Fabello, the remains of Banggali was found with bites in the neck, arms, and body.
Based on the report, the PCSD suspects that the 35-year-old man who possibly died of crocodile bites may have entered the territory of the crocodiles so he was attacked.
According to Fabello, it is the natural tendency of the crocodile to attack in case it is hungry and cannot distinguish whether what it sees is a human or an animal.
Currently, it has yet to be confirmed if crocodile bites are really the cause behind the death of Jomar Banggali. The PCSD is reminding the residents to avoid rivers that are territories of the said reptile.
