Vico Sotto has to wait a little more to be declared as the new Pasig City Mayor
Incoming Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, apparently has to wait a little more because the Board of Canvassers declared a recess until 1 PM.
The son of Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes shared on his series of Twitter posts that they have been waiting at the City Hall from 2 AM but until his last post at 9 AM, there was no proclamation that happened.
According to him, they already sent a request to the Board of Canvassers to lower the threshold for proclamation to 96 percent and the Office of the Regional Director has “duly” received it.
However, their expected proclamation still did not happen. Vico said that the Commission on Election has not given them any reason why there was a delay.
A recent report from ABS-CBN News stated that the Pasig City Board of Canvassers has declared a recess until 1 PM.
In line with this, Vico, along with congressional candidate Roman Romulo, said that they will not leave the city hall until they are proclaimed.
“Hindi ako aalis dito kung gusto nila hanggang June 30 dito tayo laha,” he said.
In an interview with DZMM, Vico Sotto thanked all the people of Pasig who supported him and his advocacy.
On the other hand, he said that the fight is not yet over. He also asked the Comelec to reveal the cause of the delay.
