Vico Sotto asked Comelec why his proclamation is being delayed
Incoming Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto asked the Commission on Election why his proclamation is being delayed.
Vico, is the son of Bossing Vic Sotto with Coney Reyes. His parents have been very supportive of his political career. From the time that he filed his certificate of candidacy until the time he is waiting for the proclamation, Vic and Coney are there beside him.
Based on the series of Twitter post of Vico, he, along with his parents and supporters have been waiting for Comelec to proclaim him as the new mayor of Pasig City.
“We’ve been at City Hall before 2am. It’s already 9:30am, still no proclamation,” he said.
The politician related the statement from the Pasig Comelec: “According to the Pasig Comelec election officer, they need a code from the regional ofc to proclaim us. What’s taking so long?”
Vico Sotto also said that 96 percent of the votes were already counted and based on the figures, it is impossible for their opponents to win.
He added that their lawyers already sent a request to Board of Canvassers to lower the threshold for proclamation to 96 percent.
The Office of the Regional Director has “duly” received their request. However, the election officers in Pasig told them that there is no approval yet.
“No one is able to tell us what the reason for the delay is,” the incoming Pasig City Mayor said.
Here is Vico’s series of tweets.
Meanwhile, here is the video from News5 which was taken when Vico Sotto, together with Vic Sotto and Coney Reye and supporters, arrived at the Pasig City Hall early this morning.
