Authorities Arrest Tawi Tawi Town Candidate Over Alleged Vote Buying

TAWI TAWI – A candidate in a town in Tawi Tawi was arrested by the authorities over an alleged vote buying.

A lot of people are undeniably hoping for a clean Election 2019 in the Philippines. Many individuals advocate voting a candidate because of his or her qualifications and qualities that suit the public service well.

However, unfortunately, there are still a lot of negative incidents related to election happening in some parts of the country. In fact, a mobile patrol has already been conducted in a barangay in Zamboanga del Sur over alleged vote buying in the area.

Recently, another report of alleged vote buying crossed the surface.

Based on an article on ABS-CBN News, a Tawi Tawi town candidate was arrested over an alleged vote buying. The said candidate was not identified.

According to the report, six(6) men of the candidate were also nabbed by the authorities. They were aboard an SUV when the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Provincial Mobile Force arrested them in a checkpoint.

Police Capt. Abdulkhair Ahmad said that the group has a bag that contains Php 20.00 bills with a small piece of paper stapled in it. The total amount of the bills reached Php 10,000.00.

Based on the report, written on the small paper stapled on the bill is a name of the candidate. Currently, they are in the custody of the CIDG and the investigation is ongoing.
